Well, executive summary is: Bad Things.
At about 8pm last night, MCAU was DDOSed. Apparently someone thought that we didn’t deserve to be hosted in Australia, and needed to share that feeling around.
This resulted in us being evicted from our Datacenter. I should point out, I hold NO hard feelings here – the guys were great, and I’m really thankful they put up with us for so long.
So we’ve moved the machine to one hosted in the US Temporarily. As the server we WERE running on was about the faster server it’s possible to buy, you can’t rent one of them, so I’ve had to knock the playercount down to 50. Plus the extra 1/2 second block lag means lots of things are getting sucky.
This also means I no longer feel happy with taking anyone’s money to play Minecraft. I’ve cancelled everyone’s subscriptions, and you’ll notice there’s no longer a way to re-subscribe. I also refunded as many people as I could who had paid in the last few days.
This means that if you were a D before the DDOS, you’ll stay a D. When we figure out what’s going on, I’ll reset everyone’s status, and if you want to remain a D, you can resubscribe then.

Thanks for your hard work keeping the server up and honesty in dealing with the Donators. Here’s hoping things work out for the best.
I dont want this server to be us hosted. Obviously the title of this server is “Au”… Not
Mcus.. I loved this aussie server for the connection and friends and admins and mods I have played with. This should stay as a Au hosted Server. If not , Then change the server name to Mcus ..

It’s going to be the same, man. Same community, same mods and admins. The physical location of the computery machine doesn’t matter, so don’t worry about it. It still hosts the Australian server.
(Location doesn’t matter except that it’ll be a lot more expensive, I guess. Seriously, donate, y’all. What else are you gonna do with $5/month? Sponsor some starving kid who’ll then get on the server and use XRay mods? Buy a pie and a half from my local bakery? Because I wait behind the counter and I lick the pies. I lick them all. I guess you could take your $5 and catch a bus somewhere and not be able to afford to come back to where you started, but who would do that? That’d be insane. MCAU provides way more than 5$/month worth of entertainment. Unless you like making mud pies or something, in which case let me know, I’ll donate to you, too.)

As DDOS attacks are totally 100% very very illegal, hopefully the culprit is found.
