There’s a test server up for 1.8, it’s got no plugins (because they’re not available yet!) but it’s up and ready to go. If you want to log in and have a play, feel free, just remember that there’s no regions or anything, so you’ll probably get griefed. We’ll ban people who suck, but we’re not able to do too much else.

Hey guys, thanks to everyone who participated! It’s time to announce a winner of the build comp, whose building goes to spawn. The runner uppers get a sneak peak of the spawn build, and everyone who participated is winning a small prize as a token of our appreciation for joining in. (You’ll see that prize later, guys!)

Winners were judged mostly on how well they fit in with the look of spawn as described by the hints, and a lot of you did such good jobs it was hard to decide on the runner-up winners.

For those that haven’t been in the loop, I should first announce that RobotoRaccoon has been promoted to Operations Manager. He is the one that’s been writing and managing all the awesome day-to-day stuff that keeps MCAU ticking along nicely. Roboto has been with MCAU since the very beginning, and he’s one of the most important members of the crew here, and I want to publically thank him for being so awesome! Bravo, Roboto, and congrats on your promotion.
Secondly, we’re no longer accepting Donations. People who currently have an existing donation get to keep their perks, but, once their subscription is cancelled for any reason, players will be demoted back to normal rank. Whilst I felt that we aren’t a pay-to-win server, we are technically in violation of the EULA. So, we’re fixing that, by no longer accepting Donations.
That’s pretty much it. I’ve been playing a lot of 1.8 locally, and I can’t wait for it to be released. See you online! 8)
We’ve had a number of queries about the build competition, and whether or not you can enter it more than once, and come up with the following plan:
You can enter once solo, and once as a team.
Please keep the teams to a maximum of three, and have fun building.
