Dear players.

It is with great regret to inform you all that Christmas has been cancelled this year. Below are several server rules that have now come into effect following the cancellation:

1. It is against the law to speak of Santa Claus, Saint Nick, Father Christmas, Jesus, Rudolf, Vixen or any other Christmas icons. The penalty can range from a jail sentence to a ban.

2. The colours Red and Green are now banned when making coloured wool. Penalty for this rule can lead to jail time.

3. Singing Christmas Carols into chat or mumble is strictly forbidden.

4. Wearing a Christmas themed skin is now grounds for banning.

5. Quoting a movie that is christmas themed such as “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, “The Grinch”, “Elf” and the Home Alone series is against the law. Doing so will result in jail time and a mute.

6. Christmas trees are strictly forbidden. There are to be absolutely NO Christmas trees made this year.

7. Giving gifts is strictly forbidden. Giving anyone a gift can result in jail time and/or banning.

8. Receiving gifts is strictly forbidden. Giving anyone a gift can result in jail time and or/banning.

9. Naming any animals after Santa’s reindeer will result in the animal being put down and the owner being jailed.

10. Christmas lunch and dinner is now a criminal act, and taking part in such activities will result in jail and/or banning.

Stay safe, do not celebrate Christmas here on MCAU or you will be dealt with accordingly. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Edit: All done, we’re running 1.6.4 now, so you can upgrade normally.

1.6.4 was released this morning (our time), and we’re still working on getting everything upgraded.

The handy thing about the new launcher is that you can simply pick what version you want to play! So stick with 1.6.2 for the moment, and as soon as we can, we’ll upgrade to 1.6.4

Just a quick post to let you guys know that the survival server is now fully up-and-running on 1.6, so feel free to update your client and jump on!

It may take a little while for PVP and Creative/Events to catch up, but hopefully not too long.

If you have any issues feel free to jump into IRC and we’ll try to help. (Note: If you do join IRC, stick around in the channel for a while if no one gets to you immediately. We’re not all watching the screen 24/7. 😉

And Mojang’s auth servers have – unsurprisingly – died.

As this is a pretty massive change, we’ll probably be running a temp map for a few days while everything stabilizes. However, we’re probably not going to bother doing anything tonight. Don’t bother to upgrade for the moment.

However, and here’s a cool new thing – the new launcher lets you specify which version of Minecraft you want to play. So in the future, upgrades should be much less painful for you guys. Yay!

It has been a long road, and a hell of a journey (for them). From the team’s beginning as a measure to control the growing player base, the Moderators have gone through a number of changes to become what they are today.

Or rather, what they were.

Effective immediately, all previous Moderators have been promoted to members of the Administration Team with full privileges and permissions, and the Moderation Team has been permanently dissolved, gone forever.

Furthermore the Administration Team is now known as the Staff Team.

Let’s all welcome the following 6 members to the team!
