New map news.

Hey guys!

We’ve gotten plenty of votes in the in-game poll (thanks for voting!) and we’re now ready to release the news:

We are having a new map for 1.8!
Poll results were 67 for new map, against 48 votes for no. That’s a 16.6% preference in favour of a new map, and enough to convince us to go ahead.

Also, who would like to have their own building in the new spawn?!
We’re going to start a building competition soon to make a building that’ll be copied over into the new spawn area, along with a sign giving you credit. Runner-ups will also get a bit of a consolation prize, and everyone who participates will get a little something.
Don’t start building yet, because we’re going to have more details along with building requirements and some theme ideas for the competition soon.

We also have some more cool news to announce soon hopefully! Most of the staff seem to think it’s pretty cool, so look forward to that too…

We’re still accepting submissions for your build to be transferred over to the new map if it is of super quality, check out this form.

Cheers!
Hug.

1.8 Map, do you want it?

A poll has recently been started on the survival server about whether or not there should be a new map for the 1.8 Minecraft release. Here is a post outlining important information and how to vote on this poll.

How to vote

  • Run the command: /Poll Vote newmap
This will display a list of options which you can vote for.
  • Run the command: /Poll Vote newmap [Number]
Please ensure [Number] is the number next to the item in the list you saw using the first command.

Points to remember

  • There is currently no release date for 1.8
    As per usual.
  • The current map has been up since the start of December 2013
    Wow, 8 months!
  • There may be a possibility for builds to be copied across to a new map
This will only occur if the build is of a very high quality (Slightly higher than D+) and you fill out this form correctly.
  • Old maps are still visible from within the server.
They are however in read-only mode.
